Introduction to Human Topography Smoking:

Fully integrated smoke topography recording and replicating line, using the new Hawktech Model Linear Mainstream Smoke Test Machines and the SODIM advanced human smoking behaviour recorder.

• A joint collaboration between Tri City Machine Works, SODIM Instrumentation and MebTec resulted in the development of a genuine integrated smoke topography line using software and applying appropriate servo drives that enables the Hawktech Model linear smoking machines to accurately replicate the SODIM smoke profiles.
• SODIM instrumentation developed the SPA`s, which are unique smoke topography recording instruments, some of which are portable, and able to record for each puff the flow rate data points with 50 millisecond intervals, thus creating a true (non-parabolic) smoking profile in a binary file that can be processed and exported.
• The Hawktech software is able to use those SODIM files to produce accurate smoke profile replications on its analytical smoking machine.
• This software will allow the user to Import and Download profiles gathered from the SODIM puff analyzer directly into the smoking machine.  The software will allow up to 20 puffs per cigarette at not more than 300 samples per puff.
